What is the message format for WebSphere MQ?

IBM WebSphere MQ and MQ Series are the same thing. The name just changed from MQ Series to IBM WebSphere MQ a few years ago.

The message format on the wire is a proprietary internal format. However, that's just the format for the header -- the body of the message can be in any format you like, including XML.
