Hey all, I want to create a jsp project using WebSphere and Im not sure what kind of project to tell it to create. Ive only used a command line environment up to this point and I cant seem to figure out which project will give me the directory structure Im looking for.

I want to have a development structure that will look like the following:

appRoot
classes directory
lib directory
src directory
web directory
ect directory (call this whatever you want, its just where I put the DD)

So far the closest structure Ive found looks like this:

appRoot
Java Resources directory
WebContent directory

I realize that I may not find and exact match to my desired file structure, I can live with that, but since I dont find anything even close to what Im expecting then Im a bit apprehensive about which type of project I should be creating.

I guess what Im looking for is for someone to tell me what kind of project I should be creating to start off with in WebSphere.

Im using WebSphere 5.2.1 trial version.

Chris,
I assume you are using WSAD and not just the Websphere application server?

If so, you need to first create and Enterprise Application project. You then create a web project which will contain the JSPs. You will also need a server project to test the JSPs.

Jeanne, yes I am using WebSphere App Developer - I even proof read my post and I still missed that, sorry about that.

Thanks for the reply, Ill check it out.

I was able to get my project set up with your advice Jeanne, thanks. Also, I looked under the help menu and there are some great tutorials listed under cheat sheets that will help a user get started.

BTW, Im using WSAD 5.1.2, not 5.2.1 (which I stated above)
