From a cd named IBM MQ for windows I installed the software. Is this is called mq series installation.

Or MQ series is much broader than this MQ.

Which release ??

MQ Series (as-is) does not exist anymore.
The new name is WebSphere MQ

Old way it is called "MQ Series"

Now they call the same as "IBM Websphere MQ"

Both are same
