Hi, The page appears, and the cows, and part of the question, but the end is cut off, and often enough I can't tell what the question is. All the rest of the game appears to work. Help, please! I am using Netscape Navigator 4.72 on GNU/Linux. I have tried setting different fonts and font sizes, and the problem persists. Please suggest what information you may need from me, or what I might try. regards, Bret
Bret, I've been working on the applet this week. I've converted it from the 1.0 event model to the 1.1 event model and am introducing some other refactorings and fixes. The version that is up right now is still the old version. I hope to have a beta of a new version soon. I think I know what the problem is that you are experiencing and it is a bug in more recent Netscape browsers. There is a workaround that I will attempt to implement in the new version. Please stay tuned to this forum - AND I would appreciate any feedback you might have about features to add, namely if we should give answers right after each questions as opposed to what it does now: answers to all of the questions you got wrong after 36 questions.
If you give the answers only after all is done, it is more like the exam, and provides practice for that. I don't know what advantages there may be to giving the answers immediately. Is it difficult to offer a control to select which behavior the user gets at runtime? regards, Bret
I suppose we could enhance the applet to do all sorts of things. The purpose for getting the answer after every question is that while you are concentrating on the topic, you can find out if you were thinking the right way or not. If all the answers come at once later, you have to reload your head with the question and what it is all about. I don't think the game is as much of an exam simulator as it is something that helps to teach you Java. After all, the actual exam has no cows at all - I would hate to mislead people.
