I have a lot of trouble with Websphere and "CM Synergy" a.k.a. Continuus by Telelogic. Specifically, WSAD 5.0 will often not recognize a Web Project which I check out of the CM tool as a "Web Project." So, of course, you can't build or run it. This is even after I have "reconciled" the project with the CM Tool. I am thinking there is some file Websphere is looking for, but it isn't the ".project" file, because that is there. Some projects are recognized, others aren't, though they seem to contain about the same file structure and all the basic files.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what is missing? It would save me a lot of grief to find out. I have tried looking on IBM's website and done searches on Google, etc. Other people where I work are also frustrated with this product. Do other CM tools have the same compatibility problem?

Rebecca - I assume you are using the plugin supplied by Telelogic AB? Telelogic is listed among the SCM adaptor vendors at http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/studioappdev/partners/scm.html so they should be able to help.

I tried going to Telelogic's website, but you can only get so far before you need an account number, etc. I don't think this information is going to be made available to me.

I finally found someone at work who said she had the same problem, and told me that there are 3 files people weren't checking in to the CM Tool that WebSphere is looking for: .project, .classpath and .websettings. I have not had time to test this out, though. Not sure why WebSphere can't re-create these for you, at least in stub form, if they are not there.
