When I used the search utility of the Javaranch, it brings up to me postes that have been deleted? Is that deliberated in that way?

When something gets posted, it gets added to the index for searching. When something gets deleted, it does not get taken out. Every once in a while, I'll run a re-index utility that will re-initialize the index to be perfect, but that won't fix any deletes that happen after the re-index.
