why does the site take so long to load

Hi guys
This is really a great site
But, why does it take so long to load?
I mean all the greatest western gunmen could load and shoot in less than one second.
Atleast that is what Louis l`amour says.

I'm connected via a cable modem and I find the site to be super fast. 99% of the time all of the pages load in less than a second.
The forum pages are pretty big. Something on the order of 70k each. That can be considered slow via a modem.
What sort of time are you experiencing and what is your connection like?
Anybody have a speedy connection and getting slow pages?

I think the site is fast except some pages in The Saloon.
