I think javaranch should petition sun for a jini certification
that is similar in structure like the new enterprise architech
exams.
1 multichoice test
2 jini project
3 essay

Also sun should have a jsp/xml certification to help
make it more popular.

Why should javaranch be involved in the petitioning?

Why? because this site has lots of programmers,
and a few java certification authors also stop by
at this site.
Also what is good for the Java Platform is good for java programmers and indirectly will get this site more "hits".
If jsp was as popular as perl,asap and php for webpages this site would get 3x or more traffic. With xml and jsp almost always
being talked about together there is alot of potenial growth
for jsp, because xml has a big future with xhtml, xss, etc...

I think you should push for what you feel is best.
As for me and any official JavaRanch stuff, I'm going to focus on learning more about Java.

I about 2 months (nov 2000) I will open a site www.firewallfortress.com/net and I will set up
a petition at the site to have a jini and a jsp/servlet/xml
certification.
