I'm doing some research on migrating our current struts enabled web app on WAS 5.1 from a windows server to a linux server.

Anyone care to share your experiences, I was looking for information on following parameters.

1. Software requirements (which linux vendor? version..)
2. Hardware requirements for the server for a small to mid size web app(100-200 users) (checked the ibm website but hardware requirements are minimal)
3 . Any issues on linux version WAS
4 . Changes in code (which i expect does not require a lot of effort)

I haven't done any migrations, but I have worked in clustered environments that actually have a mix of Linux and Windows servers. We had some simply J2EE apps we were deploying, but we never had any significant problems that weren't related more to the coding of the application, than the configuraiton itself.

Could you give me some insight on the hardware (linux server) that you were using.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
