Default Server port assignments in WSAD

Hi,

Sorry please ignore my previous post since the information in it is not properly formatted.

I created a default server configuration with the following port information in WSAD
Cell Settings

Server settings

I installed some sample web applications in this serverand when i tried to hit my index page with the following url's

1. http://localhost:9080/context-root/Page-name - page gets displayed
2. http://localhost:80/context-root/Page-name - The page cannot be displayed
3. http://localhost:9443/context-root/Page-name - The page cannot be displayed

In the last two cases the request is not even received at the server end verified through server logs). why is it so?

my virtualhost.xml has the following entries

host:VirtualHost
aliases xmi:id="HostAlias_1" hostname="*" port="9080"
aliases xmi:id="HostAlias_2" hostname="*"
aliases xmi:id="HostAlias_3" hostname="*" port="9443"

host:VirtualHost
(Sorry i am unable to display it in the xml format)

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Ajay.

Would it be possible that none of you web or J2EE apps are associated with a server?

What happens when you right-click on a Servlet or JSP and select "Run on Server"? The embedded browser should appear: what port/url does it come up on?

That's my guess - you've created a server, but the EAR or WAR file isn't associated with it, or even worse, is associated with another, default, server.

Good luck.

Hi,

Cameron Thanks for your reply.

I am sure that my j2ee apps are deployed on the specified server because

when i right click a JSP page and selecting "Run on server" option i get the url as

http://localhost:9080/context-root/Page-name

and my page gets displayed properly.

if my application is deployed in a different server, page should not get displayed when i type
the same url in browser.

I guess application is deployed in the appropriate server and what else could be the problem?
