I am trying to explore some of these tools on the IBM website. namely the RAD ide and Websphere server. I saw that they have something called a trial of "Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software V7.0" and also a trial of "Rational Software Architect V7.0".
It appears to me that the rational software architect includes the rational application developer as well as the Websphere Application Server Is this correct?

Both Rational Application Developer (RAD) and Rational Software Architect (RSA) include WAS 6.1. RSA includes everything that RAD does plus some extra UML tools and other features geared toward the design/architecture phase of a project. If you do decide to buy, RSA licenses are also more expensive than RAD licenses.
