How to configure a websphere application server 5 in my eclipse 3.2?

I had done the configuration of jboss, jrun, tomcat servers successfully. I tried to install websphere server but the sever is getting stopped automatically. After installing the server, it is loading all the necessary files, but when started, it stops automatically.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated

I'm having a similar problem:
I can't set up Websphere from Eclipse. I mean, with JBoss or Tom Cat I just have to create a new server and point the target to the right folder.
What would be the right folder when using websphere trial?
If a point it to opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer, I get "Missing classpath entry /home/turma1/opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/lib/activitySession.jar".

thanks guys,
Neilson

What version of WAS are you using? I believe that Eclipse currently only supports WAS 6.0, but not WAS 6.1.

Starting version 6.1 of WebSphere you will not be able to configure it as a server. You can configure WAS Commu Edition but that's based on Geronimo. You will need a product like RAD or RSA (both from IBM) or a special eclipse blue edition from other vendor.

If all you care about is debugging then you can create debug configurations in Eclipse, which use the IP & Port from WAS. Run your WAS server and then run the debug config as well. The server will stop at the desired breakpoints.
