Hi all, I installed an application on a cluster. Later on I federated one more server into the cell and want to make this application a part of the new server i federated. How can i do this without uninstalling or updating the application.
I tried to map the modules of the application to the new server in the admin console.(application-enterprise application- app. name- map modules to server) Is that the way to do?
You said you have federated one more server into the cell ? Normally you federate a node to the cell.
Do you mean that you have created another server on a new node(added to the cell) which is part of your existing cluster ?
If you have added a new server to the existing cluster just do node sync from the Admin console and your application get pushed to the new server.
Also if you are trying to do map module to servers you will select the cluster name not the appserver name from the drop down list so that your code is deployed on the cluster. When code is deployed on cluster ear gets deployed on all the cluster members.
but if the application is deployed on server(say x) and later i want to make it a part of cluster( with cluster members 'a' and 'b' can i use map modules to servers option and map it to the cluster instead of the server (x) with out uninstalling and reinstalling the application.
If the map modules to server is enough how can i check whether it's working.I have doing everything on single computer.Sorry iam kinda new to Was.

Hi, Is it possible to dpoly more than one application on one server. Answer to the above question is also appreciated
Don't you have a test server to try this out before goinf to production?
Anyway, it isn't entirely clear to me what you're trying to do.
Usually if you add an appserver to a cluster the modules will be deployed on all members of the cluster. For new cluster members you may have to synchronize. A cluster is a grouping of servers with the same applications across nodes, a node is a grouping of servers with different applications on a physical machine. A cluster automatically deploys to all servers and keeps configuration in sync. Federating is adding a node to a cell. A cell is a logical grouping of nodes. What is it you want to do?
