hi..all iam planing to run my application on oracle 9i appserver.as of now we r working with weblogic.now iam planing to move to oracle 9i.so does any body pl respond where can i start for this?my application consistes of few jsp's and few ejb's which r all session beans.. so pl respond immediately.. thx.. seshu

Have you read any of Oracle's Documentation? That is always the first resource I'd suggest. I can't help much for you, but will suggest that when you install the Oracle App Server, do it once. or if you need to do it multiple times make sure you remove all remnants of it. Because I had loaded it twice and it put two entries into the config files. Mark

hi..today i have installed oc4j and iam able to run test jsp with this.it seems i can acess my ejb from jsp using oc4j itself.if it is the case what is the use of installing complete oracle 9i appserver?does any one suggest me on this? thx.. rajaram

OC4J listener was not intended for use as a general-purpose web server and may not scale under heavy loads .Load balancing will be difficult with this type of configuration. You will be using 9iAS httpd listener if you have 9ias and OC4j listener only for servlets and jsps.

Hi..Besky .. thank u very much for ur reponse. could u pl tell me where can i get the exact link fororacle 9i appserver download ?if i have down load of 9i appserver is it necessary to have oc4j container with this?if it is the case how can i club appserver and container? could u pl tell me the link wher can i get complete j2ee application devolopment using 9iappserver?here i had few jsp's and ejb's in my application.pl help me..waiting for ur response. thx once again..
seradmin, you are obviously the exact same person as rajaram, and like your other "Handle" it will be closed. You have to change your log in to be your full name. and you IP will be blocked. Please use your full name, everyone here at JavaRanch uses their full name, it is more personable, and creates a tighter community here. hi..beksy... thank u very much.i'm very much greatful about ur guidence.ok..here r few problems.pl help me on these... now i have downloaded the oc4j and working with that.here the problem is in my application i have few jsp's and few ejb's. i have placed my jsp's in j2ee/home/defaultwebapp.now i have started oc4j.iam able to run my welcome page very well.but hwen iam trying to get next page after loginpage iam getting 500 internal server error.why coz my login page is refering one ejb to get next page.when iam trying to deploy my ejb as for userguide iam not able to do.iam getting errors.so could u pl tell me where can i place my ejb's?what r the paths to be set?how to deploy it?what is the default path for ejb's ?how to deploy it?my default install path is d:\9i\j2ee\home. iam trying to run my application in explode format not in .WARr and .EAR fromat. just i want to deploy my ejb's only.so pl wont mind and help me.iam in badly need of this. could u pl write me back on this..really iam very much thankful to u.
