A very strange issue. I had the Oracle 8.17 client on this machine, and I put Oracle 9i (the best and final database) on it as well. Now I can't connect to the local 9i databases I have created! I keep getting ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name I can connect to one of the databases thru sqlplus.exe (ran at a command line), but I can't connect using sqlplusw.exe (the SQLPlus window that we all know and love). I've tinkered and tinkered, but can't get this to work. Any ideas? Skip

Please post your tnsnames.ora and your listener.ora files. It is in these files that the problem exists.
