I don't know, but you can find out at the Oracle website. By the website it looks like the answer is no.
But why do you want to get 8i DBA instead of 9i. 8i is already desupported through Oracle, and even 9i Release 1 is about to be desupported very soon. The 007 test does not have PL/SQL in it, just SQL, so it is sort of an easier test, less to study. But since this is the first exam you are just starting out, so you should go for the 9i DBA.
What about this web page? I think its saying the answer is YES! Actually i am planning to go for 8i and then upgrade to 9i so that to avoid the Oracle Hands-On Course Requirement.
Yes on that web page, I'd agree with you 100%. I went to the actual 8i class and it said that it prepared you for the 001 test. Well you saw that anyway. Good to know that you can take the 007 test for 8i. Thanks Mark
