I have oftentimes found the Oracle documentation (print and online) to be sorely lacking. What does the Apress book have to offer that would make it a worthwhile buy for me?

I have oftentimes found the Oracle documentation (print and online) to be sorely lacking.
In terms of *in depth* details, I really found that Oracle's documentation does not enough. When I prepared for 1z1-042, it is difficult for me to find good resources for studying, and I have to read 4 technical manual, and the Oracle Press book. Thus, you might forsee that documents for Oracle10g AS will be more less.
What does the Apress book have to offer that would make it a worthwhile buy for me?
I also wanna know, we just wait for the author to answer this. Nick

Hi. I realize I might be a little biased since I'm one of the authors, but I'd like to recommend "Oracle Application Server 10g: J2EE Deployment and Administration" by Apress. This book is broken into 2 main areas. The first covers J2EE deployment and is targeted mainly for developers and deployers. The second part is for administrators where we cover installation, configuration, management, etc. We also have info on clustering and web cache. When writing this book, especially the administration part, I did try to add more than just the generic, bland info you'd find in the documentation. I tried to provide some tips and share some experiences I've had with the product. Even if it was a little off topic covering Unix/Linux or just general administration topics I would add it if I thought it might help someone in the field. I took that approach when I wrote "Oracle DBA on Unix and Linux" and received good feedback from readers so I decided to continue that approach. Plus it makes writing more enjoyable which is important when you consider how much time and effort goes into one of these books. I hope people find the book useful! Mike
