Hi!

I'm planning to get certified for OCA.
I just checked out the exam outline from Oracle's site and I think 1Z0-001 has more contents than 1Z0-007.
One of my objective for taking this certification is learn more about Oracle.

So which exam do you think I should take?

I also read that Oracle will be retiring Oracle 8i certification by the end of the year but Im planning to get it by Jan 05. Will this affect the validity of 1Z0-001? Will 1Z0-001 still be a substitue for 1Z0-007 come 8i's retirement.

Thanks a lot guys!

Yes. 007 is the most current and is for 9i and above DBA certification. I don't believe that you can use 001 towards a 9i DBA.
