Hello All,
Why Oracle complains when trying to add more than one fields of LONG type? It says - "a table may contain only one column of type LONG".

Because that is how it is designed.

The LONG datatype is deprecated anyway. Assuming you are not using an unsupported version of Oracle (i.e. v8i or below) you would use a LOB datatype instead. You can have more than one LOB field in a table.
