Hi Ranchers,
We are using the Sun applicaitons server, and need to connect to the Oracle 10gR2 , using Oracle client for OCI Driver type 2.
For client we have downloaded the libs from :
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/htdocs/solsoft.html
But as we are not having any specific Oracle client installable, is there any setting that need to be done in the Sun App Server to connect to Oracle DB.
Note : We have copied the ojdbc and reated jars in a folder and specified in server class path.
Also have kept the tnsnames.ora file there.

After doing all this when we try to ping the DB, through appserver we get the error :
Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Connection could not be allocated because: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

Looking forward for some possitive responses...
Any sort of help/comments are welcome

ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

That's good news. It means that you have an Oracle client, and that it woks.
But this error means that you haven't configured the client.
Ask your dba to help you configuring Oracle TNS, or see if Oracle can help you.

Regards, Jan
