What type performence tunning need be done in the project in DB side..?

Kim,
A number of things. For example:
- add indexes
- tune the queries themselves
- adjust memory settings
- adjust database settings

Since this isn't Oracle specific, I'm going to move it to our JDBC forum which gets more traffic.
