Can I retrieve Oracle username/password

Hi all,
Please help me to know if I can retrieve the oracle username and password through a java code.
at first i need to check if the user exists in the oracle configuration file, then if it exists then get the password.
please help.

I wouldn't think so, my hope is that while you may be able to find the users, the passwords would be secured.

No , you cannot access the Oracle password, you can access the user id.

If accessing the password is important, you can design the application to have its own user - passwords within a schema .
 
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
