I am looking at installing apache web server on windows 98. Which one is recommended 1.3 or has anyone used the beta 2.0.32? Also, the installation instruction say I cannot have my Black Ice firewall running, is there a work around to still have a firewall running? Thanks, Dean

Are you sure? I have seen nothing about not being able to run a firewall with Apache. You just have to make sure to unblock the ports that Apache uses.
Apache has no direct interaction with firewalls. As long as you have BID set up to allow incoming requests on TCP/IP port 80 you should not have problems. As to which version to use, I understand that 2.0 is about ready for production and it's supposed to be friendlier towards Windows, so if you're feeling brave...
Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.

I have been running 1.3 without any problems on Win98 and WinME.
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
