Dear all, I am new here and got a newbie's question: If I am using Tomcat as the Web Server, will there be a known limitation on performance issues? I am concerning this, simply because this is a free server and I heard somebody said tomcat just for education purpose, you can't really use it as production server, is it ture? Any comments will welcome! W.F.

You can use it as a production servlet/jsp engine but you should use apache as the production web server. Winter Fire - please note that JavaRanch has a naming standard ( http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp ). Please adjust your display name to conform with the standard. Thanks.
Hi Thomas,I also have the same Q. can u pl. justify why I should go for Tomcat with Apache as a production server. If u mean to say that it takes vare of the HTML. But wht if I use only minimal images on the page. Thanx, Bhuvana
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
