hey everybody,
i'm currently running tomcat 4.0 in tandem with apache 1.3 using the mod_jk adapter running in RedHat 7.3. I am using the pre-compiled, pre-packaged tomcat server, but i am not using the rpm version. I'm wondering if there is a way to run tomcat as a user other than root, and if so, how to do it. I feel very uneasy about running a service as root on my machine. since tomcat is run by java, i think i'm basically asking how to run java as something other than root. I know that there's somewhere to set it in the rpm version, but i don't know how (or if) it's possible any other way.
thanks is advance
