Hi, I'm trying to install Apache 2 on a Win 2000 platform. I keep getting the error: "(32548) Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is nromally permitted. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80 no listening sockets available, shutting down"
Any ideas? Thanks, Walt [ July 13, 2002: Message edited by: Walt Panek ]
Hello Walt, A couple of things to check: Is IIS installed on the W2K box because that may be causing the conflict, both running on port 80? From memory when you install Apache2 on a W2K box it asks you to specify server name etc, did you set that to localhost or soemthing else? Ian

I wasn't doing the actual install but I'll check. I've also heard from other sources that Apache 2 may not be completely ready yet. Any insight on this?

Hello Walt, I've installed it on a Windows 2000 box and it worked fine but did require that you run the .exe and specify the server name, webmaster email etc. Ian
