hi all,
i face problem related to tomcat on linux. its seems to b some stuff of memory leaking
I have a ticker running on client machines and these tickers request for data in every two minutes. On server side we have tomcat4 serving servlet/jsps and data is fetched from oracle (9i)database.
its seen that the on startup tomcat will be having 20 threads with memory utilization of 3.8%. But when requests come, gradually the memory utilization of all threads increase simultaneously. They never tend to come down. So after a short span of time the tomcat hangs.
On the java classes in server all resultsets and statements objects used are closed and set to null.
connections are handled thru connection pooling
similar problems are seen on oracle also . here if we use profiler we can see that the free memory % is decreasing and shared memory % is increasing........
can any one suggest some ideas to overcome this or possibilities for having such syndromes
thanks in advance

You could try running a stack trace next time Tomcat hangs to get more info.
I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
