Hi, try to use the Tomcat admin tool. Start Tomcat and your browser (location: http://localhost:8080/admin), user:admin - no password). Click on 'Users' and select 'Create New User' from the list in the upper right corner. Hope it was helpful Tom

Sounds like your Tomcat is not yet running or listening to another port. Did you get any error messages while starting Tomcat?

Are you sure that Tomcat is running? How did you start it? The browser message is indicating that Tomcat is not running (at Port 8080).

The one I use is a download. If you think your one doesn't work, try to download again or try to re-install.

Kindly state your operating system and the Java SDK version you are trying to use. Tomcat has worked fine for me and a lot of other people on a variety of systems. Bill

The Operating system Iam using is windows server 2000 and j2sdk1.4.2_01 thanks jyotsana
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
