Tomcat 5.0 configuration question

Hi, I'm trying to configure Tomcat 5.0.x using "Murach's JSP and Servlets". The book is for Tomcat 4.0.x though, and it doesn't say much about Win XP OS to make matters worse.
I have NetBeans and J2SE 1.4.2 installed on my machine. My system CLASSPATH variable points to .;C:\Program Files\j2sdk_nb\j2sdk1.4.2\jre\lib\ext\servlet-api.jar;C:\Program Files\j2sdk_nb\j2sdk1.4.2\jre\lib
Anybody who has a hands-on experience with Tomcat, I have these questions:
  • How and where do I define JAVA_HOME env. variable?
  • Should I define (if yes, then how) CLASSPATH env. variable in catalina.bat?
  • Are there more significant changes between Tomcat 4.0 and 5.0?

  • Would appreciate your response.

I'll move this to the Apache/Tomcat forum for you.
