Hi,

I installed my tomcat4.1 directly to c:\
I set my Environment Variable to
Variable Name : CATALINA_HOME
Variable Value: C:\Tomcat 4.1
and
Variable Name: JAVA_HOME
Variable Value: C:\j2sdk1.4.2_02
When I started the Tomcat Server iam getting the following message:
Missing Shortcut
Windows is searching for java.exe. To locate the file yourself, click Browse.

End quote
How to solve this, and where to place my sevlet source file and class file in tomcat.
thanks in advance

Windows is searching for java.exe. To locate the file yourself, click Browse.

That sounds like you don't have your PATH set correctly. Your PATH must include the bin directory of your SDK installation.
Can you execute "java -version" from a command prompt and get the java version output?

make CATALINA_HOME = "C:\Tomcat 4.1" (with quotes, so the space will not screw things up)... (or use the SFN version of that directory)
