Apache start problem

My apache is down.
I am not able to start my apache server..
its giving me this error
/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libperl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start: httpd could not be started
Can u explain
