When I start Tomcat using startup file in bin, the final message I get is
like

INFO Server startup in 4561 ms ........... is this how it is when it starts, have no idea, ( may appear as very illogical to U guys , but I am new to all this. )

Thanks

That seems normal.

Can you go to http://localhost:8080/ ?

Hi Mike Curwen

Yes, I can goto http://localhost ( not http://localhost:8080) because I configured the port 80 as written in instructions for installing Tomcat. I think this is what U were asking. So, that means I have installed and configured Tomcat succesfully ??

Thanks a lot for Ue replies.
