logging system.out statements

How can I send my 'System.out.println(mystuff)' statements to the 'stdout.log' logfile? For some reason I can't write anything to either 'stderr.log' or 'stdout.log' logfiles.

What changes do I need to make to the tomcat5/conf/server.xml file?
It was working fine with Tomcat 4++ but I installed Tomcat 5 and now it doesn't log anything.

Thanks,
Dave

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
