Hi there,
I tried to run a servlet that sends emails. It failed. I use Tomcat 5.025 on WXP / Sun JVM 1.4.2_04. The error was:
I found from other posts (around Tomcat5), that there should be a mail.jar in the common/lib. In my clean Tomcat5 installation there isn't. What do I miss out? ... and what would be a good book to reduce my number of "I don't understand" questions?

Well, after comparing the release notes of Tomcat4 and Tomcat5, I realized that there is no more mail.jar in the Tomcat5 distribution (a section about changes to 4 would have been helpful). Downloaded from Sun (read the notes, there is one more jar) copied to common/lib.. Tada it works.
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
