tomcat 5.0.27 catalina no output.

I will be grt full if any one can solve my problem!(as this is my first form request)
I am new baby in java server programing!
My tomcat works fine and all error logs are created in the install_dir/logs
But i want the system.out.println() must show the output in the catalina window.
As my catalina window starts up but does not show anything the window it self has only the title bar and no screen.
MY tomcat version is 5.0.27
Help please, i use windows xp!

My Tomcat 5.0.27 on WinXP shows System.out.println output to the command prompt window - the title bar says "Tomcat".
How are you starting Tomcat? (I use startup.bat)
Have you made any changes to the configuration files?

i did not know what i had done but some how its working i can see the System.out.println in the tomcat window.
But can any one explain me the errors we get on the catalina of tomcat ver 4.0 we do not get it on the catalina of tomcat ver 5.0.27 if i donot want to create a log and want the java error in jsp page to display in the catalina.
When i use the start-up-using-launcher option to start my webserver i do can see the catalina in my taskbar but not the window it just has the titlebar when u maximize it!
