huge memory usage while starting tomcat

I am using tomcat 5.0.16 on solaris. Whenever i start tomcat the initial memory that is used is 84MB. Could anyoone guide me on this. My java version is 1.4.2

Eighty-four megabytes isn't really "huge" by today's standards. How many web apps, of approximately what complexity, are running in Tomcat?

Please check in log file that Tomcat will load something much more.


May be you config large size of memory of Tomcat start.
