There's lots of folks reporting no problems with TC 5.x and JDK 1.5.

There is a tomcat plugin for ecplise.

Not sure what you mean by tomcat plugin for redhat?

What's the purpose of such a plugin ? Starting & stopping Tomcat server from IDE so you dno't have to use the bat-files ?

yes. plus remote debugging of JSP/servlets.

google for 'lomboz', for a popular eclipse plugin that provides tomcat integration.

At the company we already use MyEclipse and it's integrated in that one.
But i can use it at home, because it's free
