form based security question

Hello,

Forgot to mention that I'm using Tomcat 5.5x

I'm using form based security on my realms and I'd like to make what menus are available to the user based on their login, which means that I need a login button. I've done this, just pointing the user at the login page and it works... except that there is now where for the security app to redirect it to (I'd like it to reload the initial page with new menus available based on user_roles).

Is there a more elegant way to do this than to create a realm thats open to every role and has nothing more than a page that redirects to the home page.

Thanks,

JimB
