Variable log4j file name?

We have a 3rd party client-side app using log4j. We have access to the log4j.properties (in a .jar file) but not the source code.

Users will be logging into a Citrix server, and at best all we can do is have all users append to the same log file. What we'd like is a unique log file name for each user, possible based on the userid. Has anyone solved this in the past? I don't see any way to make the log file name 'variable' since it's essentially wired into the appender configuration. Having a unique version of the .jar file in the users classpath would solve it I believe, but that'd be a last resort situation due to the future vendor upgrades, etc.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
