Using global resources (non-jndi)

Hello,

If I declare the following in $tomcat_home/conf/context.xml:

 <Environment name="uploadBase" value="/usr/local/tomcat-beta/webapps/uploads" type="java.lang.string" override="false"/> 

and the folling in $app_home/WEB-INF/web.xml:

 <resource-ref>
    <description>base directory for uploads</description>
    <res-ref-name>uploadBase</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>java.lang.String</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
</resource-ref> 

How do I access it in my jsp file? I've tried the following to no avail:

 <%
 
InitialContext initContext = new InitialContext();
String  ub  = (String)initContext.lookup("java:comp/env/uploadBase");
%>
<%=ub%> 

I get the error:

  javax.servlet.ServletException: Name uploadBase is not bound in this Context

I got it:

type="java.lang.string"

I AM the typo king! The illegal type was causing it to not be bound.
