I have a servlet whiche create a file with some info, by default the file is styored under the folder ....\netbeans-4.1\enterprise1\jakarta-tomcat-5.5.7\bin
I assume that is the default output folder for tomcat, what xml I need to modify in order to create it in another folder, for eg C:\myFiles
You could use an initialization parameter in web.xml to specify the directory. See the javadocs for java.io.File for various handy ways to combine directory and filename to get an absolute path. The ...\bin directory you see being used is NOT some sort of Tomcat default - it is the "current" directory according to the operating system conventions. You should never rely on the current directory. Bill
