Undeployment problem

I have a strange problem with some application. I undeployed the application in the manager application but it still is listed in the application table. I cleared the work directory but everytime I start tomcat anew a new directory with the undeployed application pops up.
I then deleted the context in the server.xml but still the application is listed. I there anything else I should try?

Addional Information: In the admin application the node for my application still exists but when I click it I get a HTTP 500 Error message saying:
"Error retrieving attribute entropy"
