CATALINA_BASE?

What is the differnece between CATALINA_HOME and CATALINA_BASE? As far as my knowledge goes CATALINA_HOME is the tomcat folder. Please explain me in this regard

There are several references to CATALINA_BASE in the tomcat-docs section of your Tomcat installation.
cgi-howto.html
class-loader-howto.html
and a whole bunch of other howto.html files mention it.

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
