LoggingPermission control

Hi there,
in my j2ee application I've placed a class able to log errors sent by a servlet.
On a Tomcat 5.0 used in local to test the application, it works fine but on the linux server with the same Tomcat version I get this error:

note that the folder where the logger should write has all permission.

Well, the question is: is there any setting on a server wich allows the webapps to log errors? Or is just about a kind of folder, file permission to set?

Thanks in advance.
