i am using the security features of the servlet spec - the j_security_check form action, j_username and j_password input fields.

i have a registration form which the user completes and then afterward i want to send them to the secured user homepage. this is the homepage you see after you log in. since they just registered, i want the user to be 'logged in'.

how do i log the user in after he registers?

I know that in WebSphere you can use the SSOAuthenticator, I'm not sure how to do it using other servers. Which one are you using?

I'll move this to the Apache/Tomcat forum, hopefully someone there will be able to tell you.

Dave.

I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
