Hai anybody can help me ,

i am using tomcat 1.4.X server. whenever i compiled any servlet file and call that file page will shows an error message like " Application is not currently available ". i am using log4j also.Inially when the server startup i am getting please error message in console like "Please initialize log4j properly". Can Any one help me.

The " Application is not currently available " either means that your app was not configured properly and therefore didn't start, or, that you have mis-typed the URL and made a request for an application that does not exist.

Look through the logs in the tomcat/logs directory and see if you can't see what is wrong with your app.

You may need to go back and re-read the documentation for log4j and adjust something.

thank you.But url and my application seetings are correct. my problem is , tomcate is running at that time i am compile one servlet file the server console display the filename with java file is changed, then i called any jsp or servlet file its shows application error. can u give me any suggestion.
