I have found quite a few hits when i searched on this topic but nothing that was consilidated into a step by step instruction to get this configuration working.

A related question that i have is how would this configuration change if my database were to be a RAC. I am assuming that the only change i would have to make is in the URL to access the database.

I would appreciate your instructions & comments on these topics.

Welcome to JavaRanch!

We're pleased to have you here with us in the Tomcat forum, but there
are a few rules that need to be followed, and one is that proper names are
required. Please take a look at the
JavaRanch Naming Policy and
adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

You can change it here

I'm sorry but your name still does not conform to our naming policy. Please review the policy and correct it appropriately. This is your second warning.
