Can't compile apache mod_rewrite

Well, I thought I'd post here, because smart people hang out here.

I've downloaded httpd2.0.59 and untar'd it.

I've used ./configure like so:

(all on one line)

and my config.nice file contains:

(so, that looks ok).

then I do
make

then I do
make install

And when I look in /usr/local/applications/5029/modules.... I don't see mod_rewrite.so

What am I not getting?
