Full GC problem

Dear all...

I have noticed something very strange in the Tomcat logs. There are a couple of Full GC entries which are popping up randomly. Furthermore yesterday the memory used jumped from 3MB to 8MB.I have not had an oppurtunity to test out the application using JProbe or OptimizeIT as I don't have the permissions to integrate the App Server with any other application yet.

Furthermore I have increased the maximium heap size from 64MB to 2048 MB.

Could someone please have a look at the catalina.out log below and let me know what parameters I should change.
I would really appreciate any help in this regard.
