Limitation on File

I loaded Apache on Solaris 10 and everything seems to be okay except for SSI (Server Side Includes) that I use on my web pages.

It seems Apache is only reading the first 255 characters of the SSI file. What is the allowable length of an SSI file on Apache and is there a setting I can change/correct to allow it to read the whole file?
